Comfortable & Homely
Our 60 Individually decorated and styled bedrooms provide a comfortable and relaxing space for you to enjoy your stay with us.
Every room offers: en-suite bathroom, complementary, toiletries, towels, hairdryers, tea & coffee making facilities, television, free unlimited WiFi
Due to the nature of the hotel building & architecture there are no lifts, however some ground floor rooms are available. We ask our guests to make us aware of any special requirements when making a booking so we can ensure you are allocated the most suitable room for your needs.
We are happy to provide additional 2’6” beds in many of our our rooms for those guests wanting to bring extra family and friends. Children eat and stay free when sharing with 2 adults.
We welcome group bookings of all types, e.g. private coach parties, educational trips, and social and sporting groups. Rates can be negotiated for groups of 30 or more, so please ask about this when making an enquiry. Whilst we do not have a formal cancellation policy, we do ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel a booking.

So this has been my third stay at the Wheatlands and again it did not disappoint. Single room for 2 nights, ample space for one, ensuite bathroom. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast very nice, plenty to choose from. Parking is great. Great location, 10 minute walk to the station and in to town. Will be coming back very soon.
Our facilities
Everything You Need
Our fully licensed bar lounge is a great place for relaxing before or after a busy day sightseeing offering many brand beers, wines and spirits including ale from our local York Brewery. Open fires welcome you in the Winter, making it home from home.
We have a 24 hour reception for your convenience offering flexible check-in, complementary city maps, taxi ordering service, tourist information, and more from our dedicated, friendly staff to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Accessability
There is NO LIFT in the hotel. Accessible areas include the main entrance, 12 guest bedrooms, public restrooms, restaurant, bar, TV lounge and entrance form the carpark. Grab rails, shower stool and wheelchair are all available on request for your convenience.
Payment
Cash, cheques and all major credit and debit cards, including American Express, are accepted with no extra charges. Payment is expected on arrival. Extra items such as drinks and meals can be added to guest’s room bill and paid on departure.
Parking
Free but limited private car park to the rear of the hotel and operated on a first come first served basis. Alternative street parking is available nearby on Scarcroft Road & Albemarle Road. Overspill parking is available from 4pm on a Friday for the weekend at All Saints school, 2 minutes’ walk away.
Pet Policy
The hotel does NOT allow pets other than guide and support dogs.

Room Facilities
All rooms are ensuite with tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, towels, luggage rack, complimentary toiletries, television with Freeview channels and tourist information booklets. The hotel has a NON-SMOKING policy throughout, including all guest bedrooms.
Check In/Out
Rooms are available for check-in after 2pm. Guests are more than welcome to arrive early and leave any luggage with reception. Check out is 10.30am, but luggage can be stored with reception for as long as you need.
WiFi
Free and unlimited Wi-Fi is available in every guest bedroom and throughout the hotel. The password can be requested from reception on your arrival.
